2 Corinthians 13:5
‘Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.’ (NKJV)

How often is there a great divide between what we know/declare to be true and what we live?

Let us examine our lives. All the truth we say ‘amen’ to, the truth we declare to family and friends, the truth we like in people’s posts; how much of it can be seen in our own lives?

So often we can become so complacent in our Christian walks, and the divide between the truth we know and that which we live becomes wider. This is usually due to how easy it is to be slack behind closed doors where no one sees. This ought not to be so!

Do you know what it makes us when we do this? Hypocrites! Yes, I said it. Ouch. Hurts, right? What is a hypocrite, some might ask. It is someone who pretends to live a certain life in front of others, but is simply wearing a mask. They are fake. Oh, let us not be disqualified by playing with the things of God and being slack. God sees behind closed doors (Hebrews 4:13).

The Bible says that we should be doers of the word and not hearers only (James 1:22). So, examine your own life today and repent in any area where you find yourself living a double standard.

Let’s be ready for Jesus’ coming,

God bless 🙂
